Why planned costs less

A movement booked a few days out can sit in a driver's existing run. Collection and delivery match work they already have nearby. The repositioning is shared, not loaded onto one job.

That is the cheapest way to move a roadworthy car or van on trade plates. If your date can move by a day, say so when you ask. It is usually the easiest lever you have.

The driver is already in the area, or heading through it. Less dead time on the clock.

Batches help

Several vehicles on one route share the running about. Singles still move. They just carry more of the day.

Why same day costs more

Same day means a driver is taken off something else, or sent out with no other work around it. That disruption is real. It is priced before we commit, not added as a surprise at invoice.

We will not invent a figure here. Distance, the vehicle and wait and release time sit in the quote. How urgently you need it sits in there too. Same day is one of those inputs. Next-morning is usually kinder on the day than a two-hour scramble, if that still meets you.

Quoted for the disruption it causes. If we cannot do it today, we will say so rather than hope.

A same-day auction collection that then sits at the gate is still a same-day job with wait on the clock.

Tell us the date you actually need

Flexible dates get planned. A hard same-day need gets priced as same day. Do not ask for same day if tomorrow morning would do. The office would rather give you the planned figure.

Weekend and bank holiday collections depend on who is available. Any premium is in the quote you see, not tacked on later.
