Auction collection after you buy

Once the release is confirmed, OVM sends a driver to collect a roadworthy car or van from the compound. Storage charges keep running until it leaves, so we do not dispatch on a hope.

Release first, then a driver

Buying the car is not the same as being allowed to take it. The auction issues a release code or buyer reference. The compound has a gate procedure. Until those are in place, a driver at the barrier is a wasted day and the storage clock keeps running.

Send us the registration, the compound and the release details you have. The office checks with the site before anyone is dispatched. If the code has not come through yet, we hold the booking.

Release code

Code and buyer reference confirmed with the site, not guessed at the gate.

Storage charges

They run until the vehicle leaves. That is why we collect once release is actually confirmed.

Each site runs its own gate

BCA, Manheim and the independents do not share one procedure. We do not invent one here. The office asks the compound what they need that day, then briefs the driver.

We collect from the compounds we publish pages for, including BCA Bellshill, BCA Glasgow and Manheim Manchester. If your site is not listed, ask. Nationwide compounds are in scope if the vehicle is legal to drive.

Only if it can be driven out

OVM moves roadworthy cars and vans on trade plates. The vehicle has to have a valid MOT and be drivable. A salvage car, a non-runner, or anything the compound will not release for a driven exit needs a transporter. We will tell you that rather than send a driver to fail at the gate.

Condition is photographed at the compound before it moves. It is photographed again at delivery. You get the digital proof when the job closes.

Vehicles in an auction compound waiting for collection

In practice

Hold the booking until the site says yes

A driver without a confirmed release is a day lost and more storage on the invoice. The office checks first. Then we collect.

    Buy, then wait for release

Questions

Common questions

Prefer to speak to someone? Call the team.

When do you collect from auction?

Once the release is confirmed with the compound. We do not send a driver to wait on paperwork that has not arrived.

What do you need from me?

Registration, the site, collection and delivery postcodes. The release details you have. Named contacts help. The form on this page is enough to start.

Do you collect from BCA, Manheim and Wilsons?

Yes, from the compounds we publish, including BCA Bellshill, BCA Glasgow and Manheim Manchester. Each site has its own gate procedure. We confirm it with them, we do not invent it here.

What if the car has no MOT?

OVM will not drive it. Valid MOT and drivable only. A transporter is the right call. We will say so.

Who do I call?

0141 459 1302. OVM Ltd, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP.

Got the release? Send the registration

We confirm with the compound, then collect. Storage does not pause while a driver sits at the gate.
