Which auction compound to put on the booking

"It's at BCA" is not a collection address. Neither is "Manheim" or "Wilsons". Those are houses. The driver is sent to a site. Get the site wrong and you have paid for a man in the wrong queue, while storage keeps running on the lot that did not move.

Brand is not the postcode

OVM collects a roadworthy car or van on trade plates from BCA, Manheim and Wilsons after release is confirmed. We publish a compound page for the sites we collect from. This post is how to pick the right one before you hit quote.

We are not a transporter. If the lot cannot legally be driven out, do not book plates and hope the gate will argue your case.

BCA Glasgow is not BCA Bellshill. It is not Livingston. It is not Newbridge. They are different yards, different gates, different release offices. A Glasgow buyer who says "BCA" to a colleague in England is often talking about a different compound from the one the invoice named.

Manheim in Scotland is Manheim Shotts. There is no yard branded Manheim Scotland. Washington is not Shotts. Haydock is not Manchester. Put Shotts on a Washington job and the driver is in the wrong nation before lunch.

Wilsons Dalry is not Birtley. Deeside is not Telford. Maidstone is not Newport. The house is the same. The gate is not.

The hub that lists the work is auction collection. Use the compound page that matches the ticket, not the house you usually buy from.

Examples we already publish, if that is actually where the lot sits:

If your lot is at a site we publish, book that site. If you are not sure, send the registration and the wording on the sale confirmation. The office will match it. Do not guess from a town you drove through once.

House is not the gate

BCA, Manheim and Wilsons are houses. The driver is sent to a named site.

Name the yard

BCA Glasgow is not Bellshill. Shotts is not Washington. Dalry is not Birtley.

What has to be true before we dispatch

Release confirmed with that compound, for that registration. A valid MOT. A vehicle that can be driven. A collector name the gate will accept.

Buying the lot is not release. The code, buyer reference or vehicle release has to be live on their system, not in an email you have not actioned. We hold the booking until the site says yes. That is cheaper than a turned-away driver. The after-sale sequence, including storage, is on auction collection after you buy.

Do not merge two lots at two houses into one booking and call it a run. Each registration is its own driven job. If they happen to sit well together, the office can plan the day. You still quote both.

Release first

The code, buyer reference or vehicle release has to be live on that site's system. We hold the booking until the site says yes.

Roadworthy only

Valid MOT. A vehicle that can be driven. If it cannot legally leave, do not book plates.

How to write the booking so the gate matches

House, site, registration, both postcodes, date, release status. Named contact on your side who can actually get on the phone to the auction if the compound pushes back.

Delivery is still a real door. Prep, a selling roof, a customer. Say which. An auction collection into a dealer site is not a retail handover unless you said so.

Coverage is Nationwide from the Glasgow office. A lot at Manheim Frating can still deliver to a Scottish roof on the same driven job. You do not bring it to West George Street. That model is on how OVM covers the UK from Glasgow.

If you are still choosing plates against a truck because several lots are sitting, use trade plate delivery versus a transporter. Roadworthy singles usually want plates once release is real. Non-runners want a deck, at the right site, not this form.

The method page remains vehicle movements. Compound pages are how we stop a BCA job landing at the wrong BCA.

What we will not do from this post

We will not reprint compound opening hours or sale-day volumes. Those change. They are not ours to host as fact.

We will not invent a house we do not collect from.

We will not treat "Scotland" as a site name. Scotland is a nation. Shotts, Glasgow, Bellshill, Dalry, Livingston and Newbridge are sites. Use the one on the ticket.

In practice

The site name has to be right

BCA Glasgow is not Bellshill. Shotts is not Washington. A driver in the wrong queue still costs you storage on the lot that did not move.

Questions

Common questions

Prefer to speak to someone? Call the team.

Can I book "BCA" and let the driver find the yard?

No. The sale confirmation has a site. Put that site on the booking. If you cannot see it, call the office with the registration and we will not dispatch until it is identified.

Do you collect from every BCA, Manheim and Wilsons site?

We collect from the compounds we publish collection pages for. If your lot is at one of those, book that URL's site name. If it is not on the list, call 0141 459 1302 rather than inventing a page.

What if the invoice says one site and the app says another?

Stop and check before we send anyone. Dual listings and transfers between compounds happen. A driver at the old gate cannot collect a lot that has already moved. Tell the office which system you are looking at.

Is Manheim Shotts the same job as a Glasgow BCA collection?

Same product, different gate. Different postcode, different release office, different drive to your roof. Quote the actual site. Do not reuse a Glasgow figure on Shotts.

Do you need the release before or after the quote?

We can quote the driven job before release. We will not dispatch before the compound confirms it. A quote is not permission to sit in their lane.
