Which auction compound to put on your booking

OVM collects roadworthy cars and vans on trade plates from BCA, Manheim and Wilsons compounds once the release is confirmed. We have a collection page for each site we work from, and this guide helps you pick the right one before you request a quote.

If the lot cannot legally be driven out of the compound, a transporter is the right choice instead of trade plates.

BCA Glasgow, BCA Bellshill, BCA Livingston and BCA Newbridge are separate sites with their own gates and release offices. When a buyer just says "BCA", a colleague elsewhere in the country may picture a completely different compound from the one on the invoice.

In Scotland, Manheim's compound is Manheim Shotts, as there is no site called Manheim Scotland. South of the border, Manheim Washington, Haydock and Manchester are all separate sites, so getting the name right keeps the driver heading to the correct gate.

Wilsons works the same way. Dalry and Birtley are different compounds, as are Deeside and Telford or Maidstone and Newport.

If your lot is at one of our listed sites, book that site. If you are not sure, send the registration and the wording from the sale confirmation and the office will match it for you.

We need the release confirmed by the compound for that registration, a valid MOT, a vehicle that can be driven and a collector name the gate will accept.

Winning the lot is not the same as having it released. The release code, buyer reference or vehicle release needs to be live on the compound's system. We hold your booking until the site confirms, which saves you paying for a driver who is turned away. If you have lots at two different auction houses, book each registration as its own driven job. When they fit together well, the office will plan the day around both.

Include the auction house, the site, the registration, both postcodes, the date and the release status. Add a named contact on your side who can speak to the auction if the compound has a query.

Tell us where the vehicle is going: your prep centre, a sales site or a customer. An auction collection delivered to a dealer site is treated as a standard delivery unless you ask for a retail handover.
