Why a van is quoted differently from a car

We drive light commercials on trade plates just as we drive cars, door to door and roadworthy only. Panel vans, tippers and crew cabs are everyday work for our drivers.

Height, weight and fuel make a real difference. A high roof van cannot take every route a car can, and a heavy van in a tight yard needs planning before the driver arrives. Fuel use is different too, which is why we quote a van as a van.

    Checked against the route and the delivery point before dispatch, so low bridges and barriers are planned for.

  • Fuel

    A van uses more fuel than a car on the same route, and your quote reflects that.

Racking, ply lining and anything in the back

Racking and ply lining stay in the van. We photograph them as part of the condition record, because damage inside a load area is queried just as often as a scuffed wing.

Loose items need to be secured or removed before collection, and we will tell you which when we quote. That way the van is ready to drive the moment our driver arrives.

The same MOT rule as a car

Your van needs a valid MOT and must be fit for the road. If it has no MOT, will not start or is salvage, it needs a transporter and we will tell you so.
