Coming into Southport on the A570 and the A565

There is no motorway into the town, so the last stretch is always on A roads. Our drivers usually leave the M58 and come in on the A570 through Scarisbrick, while the A565 coast road links Southport with Formby in one direction and Crossens and the A59 towards Preston in the other. Lord Street itself is the A5267. Promenade events or a closure on the A570 can tie up an afternoon, so we agree a collection time you can rely on rather than promising a same day slot.

Lord Street and the grid behind the prom are tight, with limited kerbside parking and sand blowing in off the beach. Units out at Kew and on the Blowick industrial land tend to have barriers, while a home delivery in Birkdale or near the marine lake needs a named person and somewhere legal to stop.

Birkdale, Ainsdale, Churchtown, Banks, Formby and Ormskirk each have their own last stretch, so please book the exact village rather than just Southport. After a one way delivery our driver can use Southport station, at the end of the Northern line from Manchester and the Merseyrail line from Liverpool, or a nearer stop such as Birkdale, Hillside or Ainsdale.
