The A580 East Lancs runs west to Liverpool and east to Manchester, the A570 heads up through Rainford towards Ormskirk and the A58 leads into the town centre. Even a short hop can be held up on these roads, so we agree a realistic collection time rather than promising a same day slot.

Church Street and the streets around the town hall are tight. Units at Ravenhead, Pocket Nook and Peasley Cross usually have a barrier and a site contact, while a delivery near Eccleston Park needs someone to meet the driver and a legal place to stop.

Haydock, Rainhill, Newton-le-Willows, Prescot, Rainford, Sutton and Thatto Heath each have their own last stretch, so please book the exact place. After a one way delivery our driver can use St Helens Central or St Helens Junction on the Liverpool to Manchester line, depending on where the job ends.

Collecting from Manheim Haydock and other North West auctions

Most St Helens buyers bid at Manheim Haydock because it is on the doorstep. Being close does not make release any quicker, though, so we confirm with the auction that your lot is released before a driver goes to the gate. That saves a wasted morning at the barrier while storage charges keep running. Note too that Manheim Haydock and Haydock Park are not the same place.

Dealer transfers and fleet vans from Ravenhead and Peasley Cross

Independents in St Helens, Rainhill and Newton-le-Willows often need a car taken to a group site in Liverpool, Warrington or Manchester. Others are sending a part exchange to Haydock once it is legal to drive. Fleet vans come off the units at Ravenhead and Peasley Cross, and each one needs a valid MOT before we collect.

Haydock, Sutton or the town centre: booking the right address

Most delays come from closures at junction 7, queues on the A580 and a Haydock collection booked as St Helens. If your car is at Manheim Haydock, say so and the driver will go straight there instead of Church Street. If it is a house in Eccleston, we will not send them to Ravenhead first.

Give us a date you can hold to and the collection will be planned around it. Even a quick run from Rainhill gets photos at collection, a signature on delivery and one report by email.
