Trade Plate Vehicle Movements in Southampton
Southampton sits on the Test and the Itchen, SO14 in the centre and a ring of SO postcodes that are not one last mile, with the M3 from the north, the M27 along the city and the M271 as the docks spur. From the Glasgow office the run is M74, M6, M5 or M40, then M3. OVM quotes one driven movement. There is no Southampton office. A port city is still a nationwide postcode, not a Portsmouth page.

The motor trade reason is a city whose independents still have to move stock toward Winchester, Bournemouth and the rest of the country without waiting for a truck to fill a deck on a single Itchen Bridge. Auction purchases are not in Above Bar. The honest names are BCA Westbury and BCA Camberley. BCA Bridgwater sits west if that is where you bought. Fleet vans come off Nursling, Millbrook and the SO16 units and still need a valid MOT. A retail handover on a terrace off Shirley Road is a person at a door, not a trailer on the Bargate.
Southampton is not Portsmouth and it is not Eastleigh. A booking that says Southampton and is actually in Woolston, or actually in Shirley, needs the place. SO19 and SO15 are not interchangeable. Portsmouth currently 301s onto this URL. That is a site fault, not a reason to treat this page as Portsmouth.

M3, the M27 and Itchen is not Test
Junction 14 of the M3 then the A33, or the M27 junctions 3 to 8, is how a nationwide job actually reaches the city. The M271 is Millbrook and the western docks. The A35 is the west. The A36 is Salisbury. The A3024 and the Itchen Bridge serve Woolston and the east bank. None of those is a same day promise. A closed Itchen Bridge, a cruise turnaround in the docks and a match at St Mary's are city facts.
Above Bar, Bedford Place and the streets around the Bargate are tight. A compound toward Nursling, Millbrook or the SO16 industrial land is a barrier and a named manager. A customer toward Portswood, Bitterne or Sholing needs a place to stop that is legal. Do not send a Nursling collection to Above Bar first. Do not send a Woolston job to the western docks because both say Southampton on the same invoice.
Neighbouring places: Eastleigh, Totton, Hedge End, Romsey, Winchester, Fareham. Collection at Nursling and delivery in Portswood is one job. Collection in Southampton and delivery in Glasgow is nationwide. If the postcode is PO4 or PO5, that is Southsea, not this page. If it is SO51, that is Romsey.
Southampton Central is the main line stop. Southampton Airport Parkway is a different last mile toward Eastleigh, useful when the delivery is that side rather than SO14. St Denys, Bitterne and Woolston are real local stops. We plan which real station a driver needs.
Westbury is the nearest BCA. Poole is not on this page
There is no BCA, Manheim or Wilsons yard in Southampton on the live sitemap. BCA Westbury is the honest nearest BCA west. Collect from BCA Westbury after release if that is the gate. BCA Camberley is the honest M3 BCA. BCA Bridgwater sits if that is where you bought.
Release is confirmed with Westbury, or Camberley, or whichever site you name, before a driver is sent onto the M27. The M271 does not open a Westbury gate. Auction collection after release. Salvage off plates.
Southsea sits on trade plate vehicle movements in Southsea. Havant sits on trade plate vehicle movements in Havant.
What a Test dealer is actually booking
A Southampton independent moving a car to a Winchester or west-country group roof. A part exchange going to BCA Westbury once it is legal. A customer in Shirley who was promised a driver. A fleet van from Nursling. A single unit that cannot wait for a truck filling a deck on the Itchen Bridge. A Woolston collection written as the western docks. A Portsmouth collection written as Southampton, which is a different city.
Site transfer versus customer door: site transfers and retail handovers. Named contacts. A locked unit toward Millbrook and a gated house toward Portswood are not the same product, even though both use plates. Dock gates are why plates fit. They are not a paperwork holiday.
This is SO14, not Portsmouth
M27 queues at junction 5, a closed Itchen Bridge and a Bitterne collection written as SO14 are the usual failures. If the car is at BCA Westbury, they should not be sent to Above Bar first. If it is a house toward Shirley, they should not be sent to Nursling. Ask for a date you can keep. Put the SO district, the barrier code and the person on the quote. Do not copy a Portsmouth am onto an SO14 booking.
Photographs still happen on a Woolston to Shirley hop. Port miles are not a paperwork holiday. Westbury will not hold a car because the Bargate was closed.

Which Southampton postcodes do you cover?
Every district in and around Southampton, including SO14, SO23, SO30, SO32, SO41, SO50 and SO51. If yours is not on that list it is almost certainly still covered, because we work right across the South East.
Do you cover the areas around Southampton?
Yes. A driver working Southampton also covers Hedge End, Eastleigh, Romsey, Bishop's Waltham and Wickham. Collection and delivery can be at either end of the same job.
How quickly can you get a driver to Southampton?
It depends on where the driver is finishing their previous job. Southampton is served by Bitterne, Bursledon and Chapel Road Station, which is how our drivers travel in for a collection or get home after a one-way delivery. Decent rail access usually means a quicker turnaround.
