Trade Plate Vehicle Movements in Oxford

Oxford sits on the Thames, OX1 in the centre and a ring of OX postcodes that are not college courtyards, with the A34 as the spine, the A40 as the London and Cheltenham road and the M40 to the east. From the Glasgow office the run is M74, M6, M40. OVM quotes one driven movement. There is no Oxford office. A university city is still a nationwide postcode, not a reason to send a trailer onto the High.

The motor trade reason is a tight city whose independents and Cowley-side groups still have to move stock toward London, Banbury and the rest of the country without waiting for a truck to fill a deck on a single ring-road junction. Auction purchases are not in OX1. Live copy named Wilsons Auctions Oxford as the nearest house. The sitemap name is Wilsons Auctions Witney, OX29. Use Witney. BCA Camberley sits south if that is where you bought. BCA Bedford sits east. We will not name BCA Blackbushe. Fleet vans come off Cowley, Oxford Business Park and the OX4 units and still need a valid MOT. A retail handover on a terrace off the Cowley Road is a person at a door, not a trailer on Magdalen Bridge.

Oxford is not Kidlington and it is not Witney. Carterton already has its own page. A booking that says Oxford and is actually in Cowley, or actually in Botley, needs the place. OX4 and OX1 are not interchangeable pins. The compound is in Witney, not on the High.

A34, the A40 and Cowley is not the High

The A34 is how a nationwide job actually reaches the city, the M40 one way, the M4 the other. The A40 is Headington and Cheltenham. The A420 is the Swindon road. The A4142 is the eastern bypass. None of those is a same day promise. A closed A34 at Botley and a graduation week in the centre are Oxford facts.

The High, St Aldate's and the streets around Carfax are tight. A compound toward Cowley, the Business Park or the OX4 industrial land is a barrier and a named manager. A customer toward Headington or toward Summertown needs a place to stop that is legal. Do not send a Cowley collection to Magdalen Bridge first.

Neighbouring places: Kidlington, Cowley, Botley, Abingdon, Witney, Bicester. Collection at Cowley and delivery in Summertown is one job. Collection in Oxford and delivery in Glasgow is nationwide. If the postcode is OX18, that is Carterton, not this page.

Oxford station is the main line stop west of the core. Oxford Parkway is a different stop, north toward Kidlington, useful when the delivery is that side rather than the High. We plan which one a driver needs after a one-way delivery. We do not mix them because both say Oxford.

Witney is the nearest Wilsons, not Wilsons Oxford

There is no BCA, Manheim or Wilsons yard in Oxford city on the live sitemap. Wilsons Auctions Witney is the honest nearest Wilsons. Collect from Wilsons Auctions Witney after release if that is the gate. Do not write Wilsons Oxford and hope. BCA Camberley is the honest M3 BCA. BCA Bedford sits if that is where you bought. We will not paste Blackbushe onto this page.

Release is confirmed with Witney, or Camberley, or whichever site you name, before a driver is sent onto the A40. The A40 does not open a Witney gate. Auction collection after release. Salvage off plates.

Carterton sits on trade plate vehicle movements in Carterton.

What an Oxford dealer is actually booking

An Oxford independent moving a car to a London or Banbury group roof. A Cowley site transfer that is actually a different last mile from OX1. A part exchange going to Witney once it is legal. A customer in Headington who was promised a driver. A fleet van from the Business Park. A single unit that cannot wait for a truck filling a deck on the A34. A Kidlington collection written as Oxford.

Site transfer versus customer door: site transfers and retail handovers. Named contacts. A locked unit toward Cowley and a gated house toward North Oxford are not the same product, even though both use plates. Medieval streets are why plates fit. They are not a paperwork holiday.

Kidlington is not Oxford

A34 closures at Botley, a closed Magdalen Bridge and a Witney collection written as Oxford are the usual failures. If the car is at Wilsons Witney, they should not be sent to the High first. If it is a house toward Headington, they should not be sent to Cowley. Ask for a date you can keep. Put the district, OX1 or OX4, the barrier code and the person on the quote. Do not copy a London am onto an OX1 booking.

Photographs still happen on a Cowley to Summertown hop. City miles are not a reason to skip the digital proof. Witney will not hold a car because Carfax was closed.

0141 459 1302
Which Oxford postcodes do you cover?

Every district in and around Oxford, including OX1, OX5, OX11, OX26 and OX28. If yours is not on that list it is almost certainly still covered, because we work right across the South East.

Do you cover the areas around Oxford?

Yes. A driver working Oxford also covers Kidlington, Witney, Didcot, Bicester and Charlbury. Collection and delivery can be at either end of the same job.

How quickly can you get a driver to Oxford?

It depends on where the driver is finishing their previous job. Oxford is served by Oxford, Oxford Parkway and Radley, which is how our drivers travel in for a collection or get home after a one-way delivery. Decent rail access usually means a quicker turnaround.
