Trade plate vehicle movements in Carterton and West Oxfordshire

Reaching Carterton from the A40 and the B4477

From Glasgow our drivers take the M74, M6 and M40, then head west across Oxfordshire. The A40 runs from Oxford to Cheltenham, and Carterton sits just south of it, linked to Witney by the B4477 and the lanes around Minster Lovell.

Shilton Park is housing and Alvescot Road is the shopping street. Alvescot, Black Bourton and Shilton are villages in their own right, so send the exact postcode rather than simply writing Carterton.

Witney, Burford, Bampton, Faringdon and Lechlade are all neighbours, with Oxford further east. A quick move from Witney to Carterton is just as bookable as a long one from OX18 to Glasgow.

Collections on the Brize Norton side of Carterton

RAF Brize Norton is a working base. If the car is on the station side, tell us the access you have and give us a named person who can meet the driver at the barrier.

There is no station in Carterton, so after a one way delivery our driver usually returns by rail from Oxford, Hanborough or Swindon. We plan the extra hop to get there.

Auction collections from Wilsons Auctions Witney

Carterton buyers are lucky: Wilsons Auctions Witney is in the next town. Manheim Northampton lies to the east and BCA Westbury is the option to the south.

However close the auction, we confirm release with the site before a driver is sent, so please put the release details on the booking. Have a look at auction collection after release for what to send us. Salvage stays on a transporter.

A short hop from Witney still gets photos at the gate and a signature on delivery, just like a long run.

Dealer transfers and retail handovers across OX18

Typical bookings include an Oxfordshire independent moving a car between a Witney site and a Carterton satellite, a part exchange heading to Wilsons once it is legal to drive and fleet or lease cars coming off OX18 addresses.

If a customer near Shilton Park is expecting a car at the door, our driver delivers it with no truck blocking the road. There is more detail under site transfers and retail handovers. Station side access and a town centre address need different instructions, so let us know which applies.

Traffic around Brize Norton and A40 queues into Oxford can slow the day, so choose a date you can keep and we will plan around it.

Booking your Carterton vehicle movement

The car or van must be roadworthy with a valid MOT where required. We note the panels and mileage at collection, take a signature at handover and send proof of collection and delivery in one report. Read up on driven trade plate vehicle movements and how OVM reaches the whole UK from Glasgow.
