Bristol groups and independents are always shifting stock across the Severn and up the M5. We plan each job from our Glasgow office and price it as one driven movement between two postcodes, so a single car never has to wait for a transporter to fill up on the M32.

Getting around Bristol: the M4, the M5 and the M32

Most drives reach the city from junction 19 of the M5 or junction 19 of the M4, then down the M32 into the centre. The A4 runs out to Bath and Avonmouth, the A37 heads for Shepton Mallet and the A38 links Gloucester with Bridgwater. A closed M32 or a match day at Ashton Gate can slow everything, so we agree a sensible collection time rather than promising a same day slot.

Park Street, Whiteladies Road and the streets around the harbour are tight, while Avonmouth, Brislington and the Cribbs Causeway estates are gated with their own managers. Bristol is a ring of BS districts, and Clifton, Southville and Fishponds are very different last stretches. Give us the district, the full postcode and a named contact and the driver will go straight to the right place.

Moving a car from Brislington to Clifton is one job, and so is a long run to Glasgow. Bath, Filton, Patchway, Portishead, Keynsham and Clevedon are all close by, and Keynsham and Clevedon have their own pages. After a one way delivery our driver can leave from Temple Meads in the centre or from Bristol Parkway when the drop is up near Filton.

Collecting from BCA Bristol and the auctions around the Severn

BCA Bristol is right here in the city, so local buyers can have a lot on the road shortly after it is released. We confirm release with the site before a driver is sent, and photos and condition notes are taken before the car leaves the yard.

Manheim Dursley in Gloucestershire is the nearest Manheim, and Wilsons Auctions Newport sits over the Severn in Gwent. BCA Bridgwater and BCA Westbury are also easy collections if that is where you bought.

Here is how auction collection after release works with us. Salvage lots are the one thing we cannot drive away, as they need a transporter.

Group transfers, auction lots and Avonmouth fleet vans

A typical Bristol booking is a group moving a car between a Brislington site and a satellite in Filton, or a buyer taking a lot from BCA Bristol to a forecourt elsewhere in the country. Fleet vans come off Avonmouth, Brislington and Cribbs Causeway, and each needs a valid MOT before we can drive it.

Retail handovers get the same attention. If a customer off Gloucester Road or in Southville is waiting for their car, our driver arrives in it, with no trailer blocking the street. Find out how we run site transfers and retail handovers.

Planning around M32 closures and Severn queues

Closures on the M32, queues on the M4 at the Severn and an Avonmouth address booked simply as Bristol are the usual causes of delay. A lot at BCA Bristol should not see a driver sent to Park Street first, and a house in Fishponds should not start in Avonmouth. Put the district, any barrier code and a contact person on the booking.

Tell us a date you can stick to and we will plan the Bristol job around it. A short hop from Filton to Brislington gets the same care as a long run north: condition and photos at collection, a signature on delivery and one report by email.

Booking a Bristol movement with OVM

Any car, electric vehicle or light commercial van we take must be roadworthy and legal to drive, with a valid MOT where one is required. Rigid lorries and other HGVs are not something we can drive on trade plates. Read more about vehicle movements and how OVM covers the UK from Glasgow.

Booking works the same way as anywhere else in the country. Put in the registration, both postcodes and the dates you want for an instant quote, or ring 0141 459 1302.

We also collect and deliver in Newport, Weston-super-Mare and Bradley Stoke.

Common questions

If your question is not here, call the Glasgow office and we will answer it on the spot.

0141 459 1302
Which Bristol postcodes do you cover?

Every district in and around Bristol, including BS1, BS21, BS31, BS32, BS34, BS37 and BS48. If yours is not on that list it is almost certainly still covered, because we work right across the South West.

Do you cover the areas around Bristol?

Yes. A driver working Bristol also covers Filton, Keynsham, Bradley Stoke, Nailsea and Yate. Collection and delivery can be at either end of the same job.

How quickly can you get a driver to Bristol?

It depends on where the driver is finishing their previous job. Bristol is served by Ashley Down, Bedminster and Bristol Parkway, which is how our drivers travel in for a collection or get home after a one-way delivery. Decent rail access usually means a quicker turnaround.
