Over the Ridgeway on the A354

There is no motorway into Weymouth. Our drivers come down through Dorchester, where the A35 meets the A354, and over the Ridgeway into the town. The A354 is steep, often slow and closes more often than you might expect, while the A353 comes in from Osmington and Preston. With that in mind, we agree a collection time with you instead of promising a same day slot.

St Thomas Street, Custom House Quay and the streets behind the beach are tight. Granby Industrial Estate and Lynch Lane usually have a barrier and a named manager, and they often carry a Chickerell postcode rather than DT4. A delivery in Westham or Park District needs somewhere legal to pull up.

DT4 covers the town, DT3 takes in Preston, Littlemoor and Upwey and DT5 is the Isle of Portland over the Chesil causeway. Melcombe Regis, Wyke Regis, Rodwell, Fortuneswell, Chickerell and Poundbury each have their own last stretch, so please give us the exact place. After a one way delivery our driver uses Weymouth station, at the end of the lines from Castle Cary and Southampton, or Upwey when the job finishes in Littlemoor.

Auction collections from BCA Westbury and BCA Bridgwater

There is no auction site in Dorset, so most Weymouth buyers collect from BCA Westbury and come back down the A36 once the lot is released. BCA Bridgwater is the option off the M5 if that is where you bought.

Harbour town dealer moves and fleet vans from Granby

Weymouth independents often need a car taken to a group site in Dorchester or Poole. Others are sending a part exchange to Westbury once it is legal to drive. Fleet vans come off Granby Industrial Estate and Lynch Lane in Chickerell, and each one needs a valid MOT before we collect.

A locked unit on Lynch Lane and a gated flat on the Esplanade need different instructions, so add the estate name, the barrier code and a named contact to the booking.

Portland, Chickerell or Weymouth: the right address first time

Most delays come from closures on the Ridgeway, events on the Esplanade and a Portland collection booked as Weymouth. If the car is in DT5, say Portland, because the causeway is not a Weymouth street. If it is a house in Rodwell, we will not send the driver to Granby first.
