The A10, the A1170 and the River Lea

The A10 links Ware with Hertford in one direction and the M25 at Waltham Cross in the other. The A1170 is the old road through the town, and the A414 runs east towards Harlow when the other end of your move is in Essex. Rather than promise a same day slot, we agree a time with you that the A10 traffic will allow.

Baldock Street and the streets around the Priory are tight, with the Lea and the New River squeezing the town centre and the old maltings shaping the last few streets. Units on Park Road and Marsh Lane usually have a barrier and a site contact, while a delivery in Wareside needs someone to meet the driver and a legal place to stop.

Hertford, Hoddesdon, Stanstead Abbotts, Great Amwell and Thundridge each have their own last stretch, so please book the village as well as the postcode. Ware station sits on the Hertford East branch, with trains to Hertford East one way and Broxbourne and Liverpool Street the other, which gives our driver a simple route home after a one way delivery.

Auction collections from BCA Enfield, BCA Chelmsford and BCA Bedford

There is no auction site in Ware, so most local buyers collect from BCA Enfield, a short run down the A10 once the lot is released. BCA Chelmsford is the Essex option to the east and BCA Bedford covers lots bought to the west.

Enfield may be close, but our driver still cannot collect until release is confirmed, so we check that with the auction before anyone sets off. Ware, Hertford or Wareside: getting the address right

The usual causes of delay are A10 closures, a high river and a Hertford collection booked as Ware. If the car is at BCA Enfield, tell us and the driver will go straight to the gate. If it is a house in Wareside, we will not send them to Marsh Lane first.

Settle on a date you can keep and the driver will be booked around it. A short hop from Stanstead Abbotts is recorded as carefully as a long run, with photos at collection, a signature at handover and one report by email.

Booking an SG12 movement with OVM
