Every Cornish job is organised from our Glasgow office, down the M74, M6 and M5 and along the A30, and quoted as one driven movement between two postcodes. If you need our company details for your records, we trade as OVM and are registered as OVM Ltd, SC834621.
The A30, the A3047 and getting around the Redruth ridge
Redruth sits just off the A30 dual carriageway, with the A3047 running through Pool to Camborne and the A393 heading for Falmouth. Roadworks on the A30 in west Cornwall are common, so we agree a collection date you can rely on rather than promising a same day slot.
The town is built on a steep ridge. Fore Street and the roads down to the station are tight, and homes towards Mount Ambrose or Plain-an-Gwarry can sit on awkward cambers. Give us the exact street and a safe place to stop, and the driver will arrive ready.
Redruth station is on the Cornish main line between Truro and Penzance, and Camborne has a station too. We plan which one our driver uses to head home after a one way delivery.
Pool, Illogan, Carn Brea and the villages around TR15
Redruth and Camborne run into each other, with Pool in the middle, so the postcode matters. Illogan, Cardrew and Carn Brea each have their own last stretch, while Portreath and St Day are villages in their own right. Put the village name on the booking and nobody loses time.
Short hops count as much as long runs. Collecting in Pool and delivering in Redruth is one job, and collecting in Redruth and delivering to Glasgow is another. Truro and Falmouth are both close neighbours.
Auction collections from Manheim Saltash and BCA Bridgwater
Redruth has no auction site of its own, so most Cornish buyers collect from Manheim Saltash on the Tamar, a run back along the A30. If you bought at BCA Bridgwater, that lot is further up the M5 in Somerset.
We check with the auction that your lot has been released before a driver sets off, so the gate is open when we arrive. Find out more about auction collection after release. Salvage vehicles cannot be driven on trade plates and need a transporter.
Cornish dealer stock, part exchanges and Cardrew fleet vans
Independents in Redruth, Pool and Camborne regularly send single cars to group sites in Truro or Plymouth. A driven movement gets that one car on the road straight away instead of waiting for a transporter to fill its deck on the A30. Part exchanges can go to Saltash once they are legal to drive.
Fleet vans come off the Cardrew Industrial Estate, and light commercials are welcome as long as each has a valid MOT. Rigid lorries are not something we move. For a customer in Illogan expecting a door delivery, our driver arrives in the car and hands it over in person. See how we handle site transfers and retail handovers.
A30 closures at Scorrier, queues on the A3047 through Pool or a Camborne car booked as Redruth are what usually slow a job. Check the address, name a contact on Cardrew Way or at the house and the day runs smoothly. Even a short Pool hop gets full photos at collection and a signature on delivery.
Booking a TR15 vehicle movement
The vehicle needs to be roadworthy and legal to drive, with a valid MOT where one is required. Condition is recorded before it moves, the receiver signs at the far end and you get one report covering both. Our trade plates and motor trade road risk insurance cover it from collection to sign off. Read about what a driven trade plate movement is and how OVM covers the UK from Glasgow.
Pricing a move from Redruth works the same as anywhere else: enter the registration, both postcodes and your dates for an instant quote, or call 0141 459 1302.
