The A361 is the reason North Devon is not cut off for a driven movement. It is dual carriageway from the M5 at Tiverton as far as the town, then it continues toward Braunton and Ilfracombe. The A39 is the Atlantic Highway, useful toward Bideford and Bude. Slower. Not a motorway. The A377 is the old Exeter road up the Taw valley through Crediton country. Say which corridor the job is on. A Barnstaple to Exeter run on the A377 is not the same afternoon as Barnstaple to Bristol on the A361 and M5.

The Long Bridge and the town centre streets are tight. A retail handover on Boutport Street or in a terrace toward Sticklepath needs a person at the door, not a trailer. Roundswell and the A39 western bypass are where a dealer compound is more likely to sit.

Neighbouring towns: Braunton, Fremington, Bishops Tawton, South Molton, Ilfracombe and Bideford down the A39. Collection in one, delivery in Barnstaple, one job if the car is roadworthy. Nationwide still holds. A Barnstaple collection and a Glasgow delivery is not a different product.

Bideford is not Barnstaple. Do not write North Devon on the form and expect the driver to guess the town. Appledore and the estuary yards have their own access.
