Trade Plate Vehicle Movements in Dundee
Dundee sits on the north bank of the Tay, DD1 in the centre and DD2 to DD4 across the rest, with the A90 as the spine, the Tay Road Bridge as the crossing and Broughty Ferry as a different place with its own page. From the Glasgow office the run is M80 or M9, then M90 and A90. OVM quotes one driven movement. There is no Dundee office. An east-coast city is still a nationwide postcode, not an Aberdeen room we pretend to staff.

0141 459 1302The motor trade reason is a Tayside city whose independents still have to move stock towards Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow without waiting for a truck to fill a deck on a single bridge. Auction purchases are not in the city. The honest names on the live sitemap are BCA Livingston, BCA Newbridge and BCA Glasgow. Manheim Shotts and Central Car Auctions Glasgow sit if that is where you bought. Fleet vans come off Dunsinane, West Pitkerro and Dryburgh units and still need a valid MOT. A retail handover on a terrace off Perth Road is a person at a door, not a trailer on the waterfront.
Dundee is not Broughty Ferry. Broughty Ferry already has its own page. Lochee, Broughty as a wrong pin, a yard towards Dunsinane and a customer towards the West End are different last miles. A booking that says Dundee and is actually in Broughty Ferry, or actually in Invergowrie, needs the place. Montrose already has its own page if that is the other postcode.

A90, the Tay Bridge and not Broughty Ferry
The A90 is how a nationwide job actually reaches the city, Perth one way, Aberdeen the other. The A92 is the Arbroath road along the Ferry. The Tay Road Bridge is how a job south of the water happens. None of those is a same day promise. Haar on the river and a closed bridge are Tayside facts, not colour.
Nethergate, Perth Road and the streets around the Wellgate are tight. A compound towards Dunsinane, West Pitkerro or Dryburgh is a barrier and a named manager. A customer towards Lochee or towards Maryfield needs a place to stop that is legal. Do not send a Dunsinane collection to the V&A first.
Neighbouring places: Broughty Ferry, Invergowrie, Monifieth, Newport-on-Tay, Perth, Arbroath. Collection at Dunsinane and delivery in the West End is one job. Collection in Dundee and delivery in Glasgow is nationwide. If the postcode is DD5, that is Broughty Ferry, not this page.
Dundee station is on the Glasgow and Edinburgh to Aberdeen line. Broughty Ferry is a different stop with its own page. We plan which one a driver needs after a one way delivery. We do not mix them because they share a firth.
No Dundee auction on the sitemap
There is no BCA, Manheim or Wilsons yard in Dundee on the live sitemap. BCA Livingston and BCA Newbridge are the honest Lothian BCAs. BCA Glasgow and Central Car Auctions Glasgow are the west options. Manheim Shotts is the Lanarkshire Manheim. We will not invent a Dundee auction.
Release is confirmed with Livingston, Newbridge or whichever site you name before a driver is sent. The A90 does not open a Newbridge gate. auction collection after release. Salvage off plates.
The Glasgow hub remains the operating note for G postcodes: trade plate vehicle movements in Glasgow. This page is Dundee as a postcode.
Tayside stock, not a cloned Aberdeen page
A Dundee independent moving a car to a Glasgow or Aberdeen group roof. A part exchange going to Newbridge once it is legal. A customer in Lochee who was promised a driver. A fleet van from Dunsinane. A single unit that cannot wait for a truck filling a deck on the A90. A Broughty Ferry collection written as Dundee, which already has its own page.
Site transfer versus customer door: site transfers and retail handovers. Named contacts. A locked unit towards West Pitkerro and a gated West End house are not the same product, even though both use plates.
Haar, a closed bridge and a DD5 mix-up
A90 closures, a closed Tay Bridge and a Broughty Ferry collection written as Dundee are the usual failures. If the car is at BCA Newbridge, the M90 is the run and release still has to be in before anyone is sent up the A90. If it is a house towards Lochee, the driver should not be sent to Dunsinane first. Ask for a date you can keep. Put the estate name, the barrier code and the person on the quote. Do not copy a Glasgow 'am' onto a DD1 booking.
Photographs still happen on an Invergowrie to Dundee hop. Tay miles are not a paperwork holiday. Newbridge will not hold a car because Nethergate was slow.
The A90 does not replace an MOT
Trade plates are ours. The MOT is still yours to have on the vehicle. Truck if not.

Common questions
Anything not covered here, the Glasgow office will answer on the phone.
0141 459 1302Which Dundee postcodes do you cover?
Every district in and around Dundee, including DD1, DD5, DD6 and DD7. If yours is not on that list it is almost certainly still covered, because we work right across Scotland.
Do you cover the areas around Dundee?
Yes. A driver working Dundee also covers Newport-on-Tay, Tayport, Broughty Ferry, Monifieth and Carnoustie. Collection and delivery can be at either end of the same job.
How quickly can you get a driver to Dundee?
It depends on where the driver is finishing their previous job. Dundee is served by Broughty Ferry, Dundee and Invergowrie, which is how our drivers travel in for a collection or get home after a one-way delivery. Decent rail access usually means a quicker turnaround.
