The A2 and A20 bring our drivers in from the M2 and M20, so the Channel port is a straightforward run from our Glasgow office. We price each one as a single driven movement from one postcode to the other. If the car is in a compound, just name it when you book.

Auction collections from Wilsons Maidstone, BCA Crawley and Lingfield

There is no auction compound in Dover, so Kent coast buyers usually collect from Wilsons Auctions Maidstone, with BCA Crawley, BCA Camberley and Central Car Auctions Lingfield further west. Our driver collects from the gate and brings the car back to the coast.

A ferry check in is not an auction release, so we confirm the release with the site you name before a driver sets off on the A2. For the steps, see auction collection after release. Salvage stays off our plates and on a transporter.

Getting into Dover on the A2 and A20

Long runs usually arrive on the A2 from Canterbury or the A20 from Folkestone, while the A256 heads to Deal and the A258 takes the Sandwich road. Ferry queues spilling onto Townwall Street, a closed A20 at the docks or delays on the A2 through Lydden can slow the last stretch, so we plan timings with you rather than promise a same day slot.

Whitfield, Deal, Folkestone, Canterbury, Sandwich and Ashford are all close by, and a car in River or Whitfield has its own postcode. CT16 is not CT17, so give us the exact address and the driver will head straight to it.

Collecting at Whitfield and delivering in Buckland is one job, and so is collecting in Dover and delivering to Glasgow. After a one way delivery our driver heads home from Dover Priory on the main line, or from Martin Mill or Kearsney if the drop was out that way.

Dealer moves and fleet vans from Whitfield and Guston

A typical Dover booking is an independent sending a car to a group site in Canterbury or Ashford, or a part exchange going to Wilsons Auctions Maidstone once it is legal to drive. Fleet vans come off Whitfield, the CT16 industrial estates and the units towards Guston. Light vans are welcome with a valid MOT, but we do not move HGVs.

If you have promised a customer off London Road a delivery to their door, our driver arrives in the car itself rather than with a trailer on Marine Parade. It is all set out on our dealer delivery page. We move single vehicles, so yours never waits for a transporter to fill its deck.

Biggin Street, the Market Square and homes around the town

Biggin Street, Cannon Street and the streets around the Market Square are tight, so a pickup in the centre needs a place where our driver can stop legally. Homes in Buckland or Tower Hamlets are usually easier, while yards at Whitfield tend to have a barrier and a site manager.

Give us the estate name, the gate code if there is one and a contact on site. On a short hop from River to Tower Hamlets or a long drive north, we record condition and photos at collection, the receiver signs on delivery and you get one report by email.

Booking a CT postcode movement with OVM

If a vehicle is not legal for the road, it cannot go on plates. It must be roadworthy with a valid MOT where one is required, and once collected it is covered by our motor trade road risk insurance until signed for. Everything else is on our pages about trade plate movements and where OVM covers.

Enter the registration, both postcodes and your dates for an instant quote with no account needed, or call 0141 459 1302 to book over the phone.

Common questions

If your question is not here, call the Glasgow office and we will answer it on the spot.

0141 459 1302
Which Dover postcodes do you cover?

Every district in and around Dover, including CT14, CT16, CT20 and CT21. If yours is not on that list it is almost certainly still covered, because we work right across Kent.

Do you cover the areas around Dover?

Yes. A driver working Dover also covers Folkestone, Deal, Hythe, Canterbury and Ramsgate. Collection and delivery can be at either end of the same job.

How quickly can you get a driver to Dover?

It depends on where the driver is finishing their previous job. Dover is served by Dover Priory, Kearsney and Martin Mill, which is how our drivers travel in for a collection or get home after a one-way delivery. Decent rail access usually means a quicker turnaround.
