Getting around Boston on the A16, A52 and A17

Boston is fenland A road country rather than motorway country. The A16 runs north to Louth and Grimsby and south to Spalding, the A52 heads west to Grantham and the A1, and the A17 crosses the fens towards King's Lynn. We plan a PE21 collection around those roads, so ask for a date that suits the fen run rather than a Midlands motorway timetable. Fog on the A17 and slow lorries on the A16 are part of life here. If the other end of your job is a Nottinghamshire compound, we allow for the A52 properly instead of hoping it will be clear.

Kirton and Sutterton sit to the south on the A16 and Stickney lies to the north. If the keys are in one of those villages rather than Boston itself, put that postcode on the booking and the driver will go straight there. The same goes for Spalding, Sleaford or Skegness on the coast.

Boston station sits on the Poacher Line towards Grantham and Skegness, which is how our driver gets home after a one way delivery. We plan that return around the rural timetable rather than promising a slot it cannot support.

Collecting from the Stump, the market and Riverside

The streets around the Stump and the market are tight, so a retail handover in the town centre needs a named person and somewhere sensible for the driver to stop. A dealer yard out on the industrial estates along the A16 or towards Riverside Industrial Estate is a different collection, and the booking should say which one it is.
