Common questions
Where is the OVM API?
The API documentation is at /docs/api. The OpenAPI document is GET /api/v1/openapi.json. No API key is required for the public read-only endpoints.
Do I need an API key?
No. The public endpoints are read-only and need no key. Send a GET request to any path in the OpenAPI document and the site answers in JSON, with a JSON error body that names the problem when a path does not exist.
Is this the same as booking a vehicle?
No. Our guides explain what a movement needs, from the registration and postcodes to insurance and timings. The API only publishes machine readable discovery files.
