## The cover on every movement

OVM carries motor trade road risk on the vehicle while it is driven under our trade plates. We do not load vehicles onto a transporter.

You do not need to extend your own policy for the journey and you do not need to add our driver to it. The vehicle is our responsibility from the moment we take the keys until the moment they are handed over at the other end.

Every driver working for us is covered under the same arrangement. There is no distinction between a movement done by an employee and one done by someone on the driver network: the cover follows the vehicle, not the individual.

### Road risk, on our policy

Motor trade road risk for the vehicle while it is being driven on our trade plates.

### Driven jobs only

The cover is for a roadworthy car or van driven on our trade plates. Not a loaded transporter.

## Why the condition record matters more than the policy

Insurance decides who pays. Evidence decides what actually happened. That is the part most disputes turn on.

Before a vehicle moves, the driver photographs every panel, records the mileage reading and notes any existing damage against that registration. That is the proof of condition. It establishes the baseline: what the vehicle looked like at the moment we took responsibility for it.

The same record is captured at delivery, with a signature from whoever receives the vehicle. Both reports are emailed on completion. It protects you from being charged for damage that was already there. It protects us from being charged for damage we did not cause. Nobody has to rely on anyone's memory weeks later.

### Photographed before it moves

Every panel, plus the mileage, captured at the collection point rather than described afterwards.

### Signed at handover

The recipient signs on the device at delivery. Both reports are emailed as soon as the job closes.

## If something does go wrong

Damage in transit is rare. When it happens the process is deliberately simple. Tell us. Submit the claim within 48 hours of delivery with supporting photographs.

The 48-hour window exists because it is the only way the evidence stays meaningful. A vehicle that has been on a forecourt or with a customer for a fortnight cannot be assessed against the condition it was delivered in.

From there it is handled through our insurer. Because the proof of condition at both ends already exists, liability is normally a matter of comparing two sets of photographs rather than an argument.

### 48 hours to raise it

Submitted with photographs, so it can be compared against the record captured at collection and delivery.

### A short, evidenced process

The baseline is already documented, so determining what happened does not depend on recollection.

In practice

## The record is taken before the vehicle moves

Every panel is photographed at the collection point, with the mileage reading and condition notes captured against that registration. This is the document a claim is actually settled on. The policy decides who pays; the photographs decide what happened.

How it runs

## What actually happens

Four steps. Most of them are ours rather than yours.

- 01

### Condition documented at collection

Every panel photographed and the mileage recorded before the vehicle moves.
- 02

### Driven under our motor trade cover

Motor trade road risk in force for the whole driven movement.
- 03

### Delivery photographs and signature

The same record captured again at handover, signed by the person receiving it.
- 04

### Both reports emailed to you

Digital proof at each end, sent on completion, kept against that registration.

 Instant Quote0141 459 1302

 What insurance do you carry?

Motor trade road risk while the vehicle is driven on our trade plates. That cover is in force on every driven job.

Do I need to insure the vehicle for the journey?

No. Our motor trade policy covers the vehicle for the entire movement while it is on our plates. You do not need to extend your own cover or add our driver to it.

What happens if the vehicle is damaged in transit?

Tell us and submit a claim within 48 hours of delivery with photographs. Because we photograph every panel at collection, the condition the vehicle was in when we took it is already on record, which is what makes liability straightforward to establish.

How do you prove damage was already there?

The proof of condition captured before the vehicle moves. Every panel is photographed with the mileage reading and any existing damage noted against the registration, so pre-existing marks are documented rather than disputed.

 Is there an excess?

Claims are handled through our insurer. We will take you through the process and what applies to your claim. Ask the office if you need the specifics before booking.

### What trade plate delivery costs and how the quote is built

OVM does not publish a rate card for trade plate delivery. The quote is the driven job: distance on the actual route, the vehicle, wait or release at collection and whether it is same-day or planned. There are no made-up pound figures on this page. Two postcodes start it. Instant quote on this page or call 0141 459 1302.

### How long trade plate delivery takes

A trade plate delivery is usually next working day Nationwide once the car or van is ready and the release is done. Same day is possible on shorter runs if a driver can reach an open gate. The clock starts when the unit can leave, not when the quote is sent. Quote on this page or call 0141 459 1302.

### When a trade plate driver beats a transporter. When it does not

Trade plate delivery beats a transporter when the car or van is roadworthy with a valid MOT and needs to leave now, not wait for a deck. A transporter is a loaded truck. Use plates when the unit is legal to drive and has to leave without waiting for a deck. Use a truck when it cannot be driven or several units travel as one load. Quote here or call 0141 459 1302.

### What paperwork is needed for trade plate delivery

Less than people expect. The trade plates, the insurance and the condition reporting are ours to deal with. What we need from you is the authority to take the vehicle and someone who knows we are coming.
