# Van trade plate delivery Nationwide

Van dealers do not have a car problem with a bigger boot. They have a light commercial that will not fit the route you assumed, burns a different amount of fuel and gets argued over on the ply as often as the wing. OVM drives that van on trade plates: roadworthy, valid MOT, door to door, Nationwide in England, Scotland and Wales.

OVM Ltd, Companies House SC834621. Digital proof of collection and delivery provided. 0141 459 1302.

OVM Ltd, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP. Telephone 0141 459 1302.

## Quote the van you have, not the car next to it

The legal yes is already on [can you move a van on trade plates](https://ovmtransport.com/blog/can-you-move-a-van-on-trade-plates). This post is the booking. How a UK van centre, LCV team or dealer group actually gets a Transit-class unit moved without a car quote landing on a high-roof.

We are not a transporter. A van that will not start still wants a truck.

Registration first. Both postcodes. Then the notes: panel van, crew cab, tipper, high-roof or not. Height and weight change the roads a driver can take. A car movement between the same two towns is not a preview of the van price.

Fuel is charged separately. A van on the same miles is not a car. If you hide the body type, the figure is for the wrong vehicle. That is how the job gets sent back.

The van product page is [van transport](https://ovmtransport.com/van-transport). The method is still a driven [vehicle movement](https://ovmtransport.com/vehicle-movements). Use this post when the search was van trade plate delivery UK and you need the commercial shape, not the eligibility paragraph.

### Height and weight

Checked against the route and the delivery point before dispatch. Low bridges and barriers are real.

### Fuel

A van on the same miles is not the same cost as a car. The quote reflects that.

## What van work actually looks like

Stock between van centres. A sold LCV going to a named customer who needs it for Monday's jobs. A crew cab coming out of auction after release. A tipper going back to a branch that has the buyer. A long-wheelbase sitting in prep in the South East that a Scottish roof has already invoiced.

Same plates as a car. Different afternoon.

Racking and ply-lining stay in. They get photographed, because the first argument on a van is rarely the bumper. Loose tools, stillages, ladders on a roof bar: secured or out before we collect. We will tell you which when we quote. We will not guess at a load we cannot see.

If the van is at auction, the site name still has to be right. Van auction yards and the car houses are not interchangeable. [Auction collection](https://ovmtransport.com/auction-collection) is the hub. Release before dispatch, same as a car. Storage still runs until it leaves.

 [Auction collection](https://ovmtransport.com/auction-collection)

## Nationwide is the two postcodes, including the awkward van routes

The office is in Glasgow. The van does not come to West George Street. Collection is the yard, the compound, or the customer returning it. Delivery is the receiving branch or the buyer's door.

A high-roof on a Nationwide run is why we want height on the booking. Low structures and tight dealer yards are real. If the delivery point has a height bar the van will not clear, that is a briefing problem, not a surprise for the driver at 4pm.

How coverage is run, without a depot map, is on [how OVM covers the UK from Glasgow](https://ovmtransport.com/coverage). Northern Ireland is outside the service.

If several vans are going the same way on a flexible date, a transporter may be cheaper per unit. If one of them is needed tomorrow, or any one is a customer handover, that unit is still plates. The split is on [trade plate delivery versus a transporter](https://ovmtransport.com/trade-plate-delivery-vs-transporter).

## Retail van handover is not a kerbside dump

Tradespeople buy vans to work. They are often in after hours, on a drive that was never designed for a long-wheelbase, with a neighbour's car in the way. Put the window on the booking. Put the parking constraint on the booking. Name the person who can sign.

A dealer-to-dealer van transfer still needs a duty manager at both ends. Unmanned compounds are how you get no POD. The proof close is the same as a car: [proof of collection and proof of delivery](https://ovmtransport.com/blog/proof-of-collection-and-proof-of-delivery).

[Proof of collection and proof of delivery](https://ovmtransport.com/blog/proof-of-collection-and-proof-of-delivery)

## What has to be true

Valid MOT. It can be driven. Keys at collection. Enough fuel to reach the first filling point. Authority to take it. If it is SORN, say so in the notes rather than leaving the office to find out from the VRM.

No MOT, no start, salvage: not this product. The car rule is the van rule. See [can you move a car without an MOT on trade plates](https://ovmtransport.com/blog/can-you-move-a-car-without-an-mot-on-trade-plates) if that is actually the blocker.

In practice

## Quote the van you have

Height, weight and fuel belong in the quote, not as a surprise on the invoice. The form on this page is enough. The van transport hub is the service page for this work.

 Instant Quote0141 459 1302

Do you move vans as well as cars on the same service?

Yes. Light commercials that are legal to drive. Panel vans, crew cabs and tippers are normal work. HGVs are not. Say it is a van on the quote so height, weight and fuel are in the figure.

Will a UK-wide van movement use a different number or office?

No. One Glasgow office, one number: 0141 459 1302 . Both postcodes on the form. England, Scotland and Wales. You do not book a regional van line.

Can a high-roof van still go on trade plates?

Yes, if it is legal to drive and the route will take it. Height can rule out a road a car would use. Put the roof height in the notes. If a driven exit is not legal, it needs a transporter.

Do you collect vans from auction as well as from dealers?

Yes, after release, from compounds we collect from, including van-specific yards we publish. The booking still needs the site name, not "the van auction".

Is a van customer delivery priced like a car handover?

It can take longer at the door and the vehicle is not a car on fuel. Send the registration and say it is a retail van handover. Do not reuse a car stock-transfer figure.

### Can you move a van on trade plates?

Yes, if it is a roadworthy van with a valid MOT. OVM drives panel vans, crew cabs and tippers on trade plates. Not an HGV. Not a rigid. Height, weight and fuel change the quote. Tell us it is a van when you ask. Instant quote on this page or call 0141 459 1302.
